“It's the end”, studio that worked with Nintendo and Netflix closed after 19 years

The company said goodbye to the players with an emotional message

The instability of the industry has caused the closure of several studios in recent months. This situation continues to claim new victims, as a company with 19 years of experience has just closed its doors due to lack of opportunities and resources.

This is Paladin Studios, a company that collaborated in various developments of Nintendo, Netflix, Bandai Namco and other renowned studios. Through a press release, the company informed about its closure and took the opportunity to thank both its creatives and the players who supported its projects.

Paladin Studios closes and all creatives are out of work

Paladin Studios was born in 2005 as a small independent studio based in the Netherlands. Over the years, it managed to grow to 55 members who worked on projects for various companies and on games such as Good Job!, Cut the Rope Remastered, Amazing Katamari Damacy and My Tamagotchi Forever.

After almost 2 decades of uninterrupted work, the studio closed its doors as it found no new projects to work on during the last few months. As a consequence, it entered a severe financial crisis and, therefore, could not continue.

“Yesterday we hit an inflection point for our financial security. Going further with the current outlook would have been an irresponsible decision that would have likely caused insolvency. We have therefore taken this step to ensure a proper winding down, where all employees are given proper severance and the studio remains debt-free,” the company explained.

In its statement, it thanked all the developers who were part of its ranks and recognized their talent. It also regretted the situation, as all the creatives lost their jobs. Because of this, they invited other companies to share their available vacancies. Finally, they confirmed that they will do their best to keep their current games available. Their plan is to give them long-term technical support.

“We want to thank the team, our partners, and our fellow industry colleagues for all the good times. It truly was a wild ride, and we wouldn’t want to have missed it for the world,” the studio concluded.
