This is what happens when you create a hyperrealistic narrative through Unreal Engine 5

Slowly and steadily, we’re approaching an era where video games look as real as life itself. Of course, from our fixed point of view, this doesn’t seem likely to happen thoroughly soon; from time to time, we get pieces and brief demonstrations of what hyperrealistic games could look like now. But we know that it is as far as technology and devs go for now.

But this year is different. This is the year when the breach starts to close, and a new gaming experience comes closer and closer. The most significant example of this new era of video games is Project M from South Corea, a perfect narrative, an embellishing adventure with visuals that go further than an average game.

Thanks to Eurogamer for translating the original article from SouthCorean studio NCSoft, we can get to know the story a little deeper: a man is in seek of revenge after losing his beloved lady to a group of murderers.

LOOKS LIKE REAL LIFE, LOOKS LIKE A MOVIE… IT’S NOTHING BUT A GAME

Project M presents a narrative with heavy cinematographic influence taken from titles like Detroit: Become Human and Heavy Rain. The decision-making process, quick-time events, and how the story branches out are a giveaway of how the game would unravel. But the most eye-catching feature is the visual element Project M has to offer. It stands out for its hyperrealistic scenes that were brought to life thanks to Unreal Engine 5.

Sadly, the video above is everything we know about Project M. There are no details from its release date or which platforms will run the game. From its looks, Sony could present the title on its console. We’ll have to wait and find out!
