In information sure to thrill survival horror fans, one of the industry's most trusted leakers seems to be teasing us about the return of Alone in the Dark, a franchise considered the pioneer of the genre.
We are talking about the leaker known on Twitter as The Snitch, who does not usually talk much but when he does he is usually correct, proving to be a reliable source of information about upcoming industry releases.
The cryptic message
In his most recent tweet, the insider shared a message that for some people is somewhat cryptic, while for others it seems to be quite obvious.
If you've had the chance to play Alone in the Dark, you probably identified that phrase. If this is not the case, all you have to do is a quick Google search of the message and verify that it belongs to the classic series.
What is Alone in the Dark?
The original story of the franchise was based on the works of legendary American writer Howard Phillips Lovecraft, better known as H. P. Lovecraft, author of horror and science fiction stories and novels. Later installments turned to other sources of inspiration, including the works of H. R. Giger, voodoo, and the Wild West.
The series consists of six video games with different themes and locations, two comic books, and two movies based on the games.
Alone in the Dark: Illumination was released on June 11, 2015, and is the most recent game of the franchise. Unlike previous installments, this one can only be played online, being heavily indicted by critics and fans.
Since September 2018, the IP belongs to THQ Nordic, a company that will have a special presentation this upcoming Friday, August 12, in which previews of several of its next video games will be shown, including perhaps some surprises. Will the revival of Alone in the Dark be one of them?
