Are you the kind of person that wants to know everything? Like how a game is performing or how many people are currently playing them? Usually, news portals are the ones informing the sometimes crazy movements on the charts however if you are the curious type maybe this is going to be great news for you.
Valve has updated their Steam charts putting all that is needed to know in one place, which if you ask us is a hundred times more user-friendly than before… congrats to their UX designers.
Popularity is key
While the charts only reflect popularity and not units sold we can's say that this have changed a lot, however the company released a statement noting that this new design will not only show the most-played and top-selling games on Steam but will also update numbers in real-time which as always will also show the performance of any game by week or month.
As expected, the new charts also gather numbers in “more detail” to allow us to process information easily. On the other hand, the new top-selling list is calculated on the total revenue of each title, covering full-game purchases, DLC sales and in-game transactions, also we got a chart of exclusively free-to-play titles and pre-orders.
While the section is not new, its new design (as we said before) is a hundred times more helpful, as all the information is now enclosed on a single page and with better distribution than before.
