The last two installments of God of War have been a huge success, and part of that success is thanks to its fantastic art. That's why many fans of the saga will be saddened to know that the art director of the God of War franchise and one of the main creative forces behind God of War (2018) and God of War: Ragnarok announced his departure from PlayStation.

Through Twitter, Raf Grassetti revealed that today, May 19, 2023, was his last day working for Sony after more than a decade with the studio. In his farewell, he took the opportunity to thank his colleagues and PlayStation for his time at the company.

"Today is my last day at Sony after a decade of being part of this incredible journey. It's bittersweet, but above all, I'm overwhelmed with gratitude for the enormous amount of opportunities I had the fortune to have. Sony has been my second home, and I'm immensely grateful to be involved so deeply with God of War. The skills I learned and the deep connections I formed with amazing people will stay with me forever," said Grassetti.

Raf Grassetti joined PlayStation in September 2012 as an art supervisor, where he worked on titles such as Killzone: Shadow Fall, Infamous: Second Son, and The Order 1886. A year later, he joined the Sony Santa Monica team to work on projects such as God of War and God of War: Ragnarok as an artist and art director.

Before joining PlayStation, Grassetti worked as a character artist at BioWare, contributing to the development of Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age Inquisition. He also collaborated with different companies on games like Assassin's Creed III, Saints Row 2, The Witcher 2, The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, among others.

Another reason why Grassetti is known in the internet world is for his incredible fan art of franchises like Dragon Ball, Chrono Trigger, Street Fighter, Sonic, and even Batman.
