Today brings good news for all Resident Evil fans, as Capcom is reportedly fine-tuning the details for the reveal of Resident Evil 9, just as veteran and accurate leaker Dusk Golem has recently leaked.
Resident Evil 9 Might Be Closer Than You Think
The possibility of a potential delay can be ruled out, as in a recent update, the insider mentioned that Resident Evil 9 should be announced soon, as it has a scheduled release for the following year.
While Dusk Golem mentioned hearing about a release for January, they cautioned that this information hasn't been heard recently, so there's a chance it may have changed over the last few months.
Additionally, Dusk Golem explained that Resident Evil 9 began development 7 years ago and was originally considered to be Resident Evil 8. The game we now know as Resident Evil 8 (Village) was developed concurrently as a spin-off, but it ultimately became Resident Evil 8, and the other title became the next installment.
The leaker commented that Capcom greenlights projects in the series in batches, and that at the beginning of 2023, they did something similar, as the company's intention is to maintain an "almost annual" release pace.
Unfortunately, Dusk Golem did not leak further details about Resident Evil 9, stating they will let the company surprise the fans.
