Get ready to experience space horror with Nightdive on PlayStation and Xbox

url=https://www.levelup.com/tag/System%20shock]System Shock[/url] is one of the cult video games for PC users and currently exists in the form of a remake thanks to the excellent work of Nightdive Studios. So far, this release had only reached PC, but soon it will arrive on consoles as the studio confirmed the release date.

Nightdive confirms the upcoming release of System Shock on PlayStation and Xbox

Nightdive Studios posted a video on their X account reminding that, as revealed last March, the acclaimed remake of System Shock will finally come to PlayStation and Xbox. The best news is that this debut won't be limited to current-generation consoles as it will arrive on May 21st for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. This console version will include all the improvements that have been made to the PC version over the past year, as well as some changes to adapt the experience to this type of hardware, especially in terms of gameplay and controls.

System Shock debuted in 1994, and nearly three decades after its release, Nightdive Studios took on the task of making a remake that respected the essence of the original release with audiovisual improvements and adjustments according to current standards.

The result of the System Shock remake has been generally good, and the community has given it good ratings, cementing Nightdive's work, a studio that was bought by Atari and is known for its excellent treatment of old games by bringing them back in the form of remasters or remakes.

Since we're talking about these kinds of projects related to retro gaming and the Atari brand, the return of Infogrames, one of the most important labels in Europe during the 90s, was recently confirmed. The company that owns Nightdive is betting on nostalgia, and what better way than with studios that are respectful and careful with the original work.
